In recent years, technological advancements have prompted Chinese wooden handicraft enterprises to increase their efforts in product research and design continuously. Through various measures, these enterprises have generally reported a significant increase in export volumes, primarily concentrated in developed countries in Asia, Europe, and America. Among them, the United States accounts for more than one-third of the market share at 37%, followed by Japan at 17%, Hong Kong at 7%, the United Kingdom at 5%, and Germany at 5%. These five regions are the main export destinations for Chinese wooden handicrafts.

From July to December 2023, the export volume of household or decorative wooden products increased from 450,000 tons to 810,000 tons, demonstrating a continuous strengthening of the industry’s overall export capacity. From January to May 2024, the export volume of household or decorative wooden products in China reached 340,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 10.7%, indicating a certain level of resilience and growth potential in the wooden handicraft industry’s exports.

Today, the wooden handicraft industry has entered a mature stage. The market competition is becoming increasingly fierce, and branding and personalization have become important trends in the industry’s development. Companies are paying more attention to innovation and personalization in product design and manufacturing to meet the increasingly diverse needs of consumers.
